THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN

THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN

The Parable of The Good Samaritan – Jamin Roller, 14 min.

Session 1a The Good Samaritan - Jamin Roller - DMBS

No one likes interruptions, but the Christian life is full of them. And for good reason. Whether they come in the form of a man beaten bloody on the side of the road or a child begging for our attention, we often fail to see interruptions for what they are—divine opportunities. God allows them to derail our plans for the sake of deepening our relationship with him and opening our eyes to our blind spots.

In this one-session series, pastor Jamin Roller reexamines the Parable of the Good Samaritan to give us a fresh perspective on one of Jesus’s most famous parables. People are always more important than our plans. It’s a truth that can be difficult to remember that truth in our fast-paced world, but those who follow Jesus are called to love in a distinct way that begins with asking how to be a neighbor to those around us.

ONENESS EMBRACED

Embracing Racial Oneness – Tony Evans, 13 min.

Embracing Racial Oneness

America’s racial crisis is a result of the failure of the church to deal with racism

Black/white relations in the culture at large and in the church, in particular, continue to be a stain on America’s respectable reputation. The church has clearly failed and must seek to function by God’s kingdom perspective. In this legacy message, Tony Evans seeks to promote a biblical understanding of the kingdom foundation of oneness by detailing why we don’t have it, what we need to do to get it, and what it will look like when we live it.

Fully encompassing areas of unity, history, culture, the church, and social justice, Evans looks to the scriptures for the balance between righteousness and justice that is crucial for applying in this generation and in training the next. A full section on black church history provides a background and understanding that has often been neglected. Recalling experiences in his own evangelical journey, Evans shares kingdom-minded approaches for biblical justice and social restoration. To better glorify God and help heal the persistent racial divide, all church members would do well to read and learn from Oneness Embraced.

Session 5

Don’t Outsource Your Faith Illustration video | 2:24

Watching this short video illustration about your faith. Let’s face it—no one likes having their plans interrupted. But sometimes, it’s God who’s doing the interrupting. Often we’d rather leave those God-moments to the “professionals.” But we weren’t called to hide behind a preacher beeper. In fact, the Apostle Peter wrote, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Pet. 3:15). God-moments carry a higher priority than our comfort. And God will honor your faithfulness.

Live bravely for God today. Embrace your interruptions and let God use you for His glory.
